RENAULT RANGE T DELIVERS THE EARTH FOR DEARDENS

“Our driver is also really happy and has been particularly impressed by the vehicle’s torque on hills when it’s fully laden."

P J and J Dearden (Chard) Ltd, haulage and aggregate supplier to the building industry, has taken delivery of its first ever Renault Truck. Supplied by Renault Trucks South West, the new T460 6x2 tractor unit is a replacement for a Mercedes Actros and joins Dearden’s 8-strong Iveco, Volvo and Scania fleet. The relationship with Renault Trucks South West and the vehicle’s performance, especially during test drives, were the key factors in Dearden’s vehicle selection.

The Range T is being used for general haulage for Dearden’s customers across the UK and also sub-contracting work for Gregory Distribution. Commenting on the decision to bring the company’s first Euro 6 Renault into its fleet, Dearden’s Owner Director, Helen Dearden said: “We started looking for a new vehicle at the CV Show and we were interested to find out more about the Renault. One of our drivers then trialled the new Range T at a Renault Trucks open day event and was really impressed. The vehicle has only been on the road a couple of weeks and we have been delighted by the payload and fuel efficiency, especially on some of the more testing Cornish roads.”

Helen continued, “Our driver is also really happy and has been particularly impressed by the vehicle’s torque on hills when it’s fully laden. As a family business and doing work on behalf of Gregory Distribution it’s incredibly important that we deliver a great service to our customers and with the new Renault Range T on board we think we have the winning combination.”

Pete Swinnerton, Renault Trucks South West, said: “It’s been a pleasure working with the team at Deardens and supplying a vehicle that really delivers for them. The vehicle has only been on the road for a couple of weeks but it’s already delivering some impressive fuel economy and performance figures.  As the vehicle runs in we would expect the figures to improve further, and this will all be tracked through Renault’s Optifleet fuel management system. “
