"I started as an apprentice HGV Technician at RH Commercial Vehicles in 2019, learning how to service vehicles, replace truck parts such as the engine, brakes and diagnostics. I'm now a Supervisor! The support and training I have received has been brilliant. Every day, there is always something new to learn - especially as more and more electric trucks come to the depot. There's so many different parts of a truck and jobs to do - it never gets boring."
"Starting my apprenticeship with Renault Trucks in 2008 was the foundation for a career I never could have imagined. Over the last 18 years, I’ve transitioned from an apprentice to achieving Master Technician status in 2012, eventually moving into training to develop the technicians of the future. The evolution of the industry has been massive; when I started, electric cars were a rarity, and now I am at the forefront of electric truck technology. Staying with Renault Trucks has allowed me to remain at the cutting edge of innovation, ensuring our network is ready for the next generation of transport. Beyond the workshop, this path has offered experiences I never expected, such as supporting charities in Africa and travelling to meet incredible people across the industry. My apprenticeship didn't just teach me how to fix vehicles; it gave me the leadership skills to become a MHD technical trainer and leader. For anyone starting today: embrace the technology, take every opportunity, and remember that you are the future of this industry."
