Sparks Commercial Services (SCS), part of the Renault Trucks dealer network, has officially opened its brand-new state-of-the-art Head Office, Van Centre and Electric Vehicle (EV) Education Centre in Southampton.
Creating 25 jobs and expanding the company’s presence and visibility in the South, the new SCS HQ represents a multi-million-pound investment by the family-run commercial vehicle dealer.

Held on 4 September, the grand opening event welcomed customers, media and local businesses for guided tours of the new site, vehicle displays, and the chance to meet the Sparks Commercial team alongside Renault Trucks leaders from Lyon, President Bruno Blin and Christophe Deshayes, Senior Vice President, Renault Trucks Europe, as well as Carlos Rodrigues, Managing Director, Renault Trucks UK & Ireland.

The new flagship site, strategically located on Redbridge Causeway at the end of the M271 in Southampton, serves as the company’s new Head Office and central hub for new and used light commercial vehicle (LCV) and truck sales. With a dedicated LCV workshop on site, this new facility will support the existing Sparks Commercial HGV workshop located less than a mile away.

At the heart of the facility is the new EV Education Centre, which has been created to help operators, businesses and drivers navigate the transition to more sustainable transport. Featuring interactive displays, expert-led workshops and tailored advice, the Centre demonstrates SCS’s long-term commitment to helping customers on their decarbonisation journey.

Julie Spark, Director and Co-founder of SCS, commented: “Our new van centre is a huge step forward for Sparks Commercials. It not only gives us a modern, purpose-built home, but also enables us to play a leading role in supporting our customers as they transition to more sustainable transport. The EV Education Centre is central to that vision – giving van operators the tools, knowledge and confidence they need to make informed choices about electric vehicles.”

Carlos Rodrigues said: “The new Sparks Commercial Services Van Centre is an outstanding example of how our dealer partners are investing in the future of transport. The EV Education Centre in particular highlights the importance of education and support in helping our customers achieve their electrification goals. Sparks’ investment demonstrates real leadership within the Renault Trucks network and we are proud to celebrate this milestone with them."

The facility also offers the full range of Renault Trucks commercial vehicles from 2.8 to 44 tonnes, an MOT lane for Classes 4, 5 and 7, computerised brake roller testing, diagnostic facilities for all makes, dedicated parts supply, and Renault Trucks-trained technicians supported by 24/7 roadside assistance.

The new centre marks Sparks' entry into the B2C retail market and forms part of a broader strategy to explore the expansion of more dedicated van centres as the company continue to grow and evolve.
