Abingdon-based Terrafirma Roadways Ltd, specialists in delivering highly effective and efficient temporary roadway systems in the UK, has taken delivery of its first Euro 6 Renault Range Cs.  Supplied by Renault Trucks South, the 2 new C430 6x4 vehicles with Epsilon M120Z84TI cranes are additions to Terrafirma Roadways’ 15-strong Renault, DAF and MAN fleet. It was its previous favourable experiences with Renault Premium Landers, in terms of ground clearance, automated gearbox, fuel economy and Optifuel system that were the key factors in their latest vehicle selection.

Terrafirma Roadways is the sole UK distributor of the Dura-Base mat system, a unique alternative to aluminium temporary road surfaces. The new Range Cs will be used to deliver and install Dura-Base to customers across the UK and Europe.  Commenting on the decision to bring the new Range Cs into its fleet, Terrafirma’s Managing Director, Hugh Robertson said, “We’ve been really impressed with the Renault Premium Landers so the next step was to try the new Euro 6 vehicles.  The automated Optidriver gearbox on the Range C is particularly well-suited to our operation, as well as the ground clearance, as our vehicles are used extensively off road.”

Hugh continued, “I have been impressed by the fuel economy of the Renault Premium Landers, which have been returning approximately 1.5 mpg fuel saving per vehicle compared to our previous fleet. I’m hoping the Range Cs will deliver even more in this area. I also really like the Renault Optifleet telematics system, which is a great management tool and allows us to monitor how the operator is using and driving the vehicle.”

Terrafirma Roadways Ltd, based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, was established in 2001 and delivers highly effective temporary roadway systems to companies across the UK including The National Grid, Balfour Beatty and The Royal Parks.
